Holy Blood work

As I normally do, I had my 6 month blood work drawn, it happened to fall three days after the New Year. Now, I knew the last 6 months of my life were unusual and I had not been making the best decisions for my body, but I was not prepared for the results.....

For a brief background (I'll go into detail in a future post) the father of my two boys had terminal brain cancer and I was in charge of him and his care. It was a grueling last 6 months for everyone involved, but I was in charge of EVERYTHING. Not to mention caring for my two kids and trying to make sure they process their dad's illness in the best way possible. My ex-husband passed in November. One is never really prepared for that, nor the enormity of tasks that follow. The stress of it all took it's toll. My diet went to crap, I was drinking too much wine and not exercising like I normally do.

I decided to take my blood work results to a new ARNP since my previous person had significantly reduced her hours, and I thought a new, fresh approach might be beneficial. The visit started with a bang......the scale. What the actual f**k? I had gained 8lbs. It was the heaviest I've weighed since pregnancy. My confidence immediately shrank.

Then the thyroid....totally out of whack. Testosterone was undetectable. I was at max capacity for B12 and D3, was told to stop cut my supplementation in half for both. Also, I had COVID in January which triggered my Epstein Barr Virus, which explained why I was just totally exhausted all the time.

On the brighter side of things I am 51 and have normal hormone levels, YAY! Not menopausal.....yet. LOL. Everything else was normal and nothing to worry about. Shew!

I drove home shook. But actually in a good way.

I'm now ready to start my new year in February!

Cleaning up my nutrition, not drinking as much wine, and I started the Tracy Anderson Method for a workout regimen.

I'm back baby! Ready to get my attitude, and my life back in order.

If you don't regularly get your blood work done, it might be a good idea. Information is power - you can do a lot about what you know about, but nothing about what you don't.

xo, B
